Joan is a sweet little lady with a big personality-you just have to give her a few days to let it shine! She's the kind of dog who likes to take things slow with new people. Expect to give her about four days to settle in before she starts seeking out affection from her primary caregiver. During that adjustment period, she'll do best in a kennel, playpen, or another secure, easy-to-clean area while she learns her new routine. Since she isn't very reliable with recall when she's still getting to know someone, keeping her safely contained at first is important.

Once Joan realizes she's home, her true personality comes out! She transforms into a goofy, energetic little companion who loves to zoom around, then curl up in a cozy bed or on your lap for some well-earned relaxation. She's equal parts playful and cuddly, making her a wonderful little sidekick.

Joan has lived successfully with both cats and dogs. While she isn't particularly interested in playing with them, she's happy to coexist peacefully and do her own thing.
