Not Your Average House Cat
OK Humane occasionally has aloof, adventurous cats that are not suited for the typical “house cat” lifestyle and would prefer a barn home or warehouse environment. These cats need caring homes who can provide a safe and stimulating environment for them to enjoy. All cats in the Working Cat Program have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and ear tipped.
What is a Working Cat?
Working Cats are cats that are independent, self-sufficient loners. They’re also known as “mousers” and “rodent managers.” They typically prefer to live outdoors, seeking accommodation in a barn or shed with a steady supply of food and water. Some Working Cats, with patience and kindness, will learn to trust over time and become affectionate and loving companions.
